Live the Spirit Residency are the producers of the Englewood Jazz Festival and  an after school jazz education program for youth.   This organization is deeply rooted in and reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Englewood community. Their mission is to increase the musical resources of the community and connect the past to the present through programs and partnerships with artists and arts organizations committed to music, mentoring, and inter-generational knowledge exchange. For thirteen years, they have presented original music to a community that is directly linked to the musicians who write and perform it at home and around the globe.

Live The Spirit Residency is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization registered in the State of Illinois. Live the Spirit is in residency at Hamilton Park through the Chicago Park District’s Arts Partners in Residence Program, which unites artists and communities in Chicago’s parks.

Their work is made possible through the generosity of the MacArthur Fund for Arts and Culture at The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, the Oppenheimer Family Foundation, the AT&T Investing in Illinois Program, Senator Jacqueline Collins, Senator Donne Trotter, the Chicago Park District, Dawk Publishing, Delmark Records, and Chicago Creative Arts Online. This project is partially supported by a CityArts Program grant from the City of Chicago, Department of Cultural Affairs.
